Join us for our sixth "Summer Scholars" program, designed to inspire the next generation of thinkers and leaders.July 2013
Experience a week of engaging in an academic course in the mornings, and participating in related social and recreational activities in the afternoons and evenings. You will explore the local area through hikes and excursions, choose workshop projects in media including photography, graphic design, and videography, and have optional activities from yoga to bouldering to ultimate frisbee.

UBC Summer Scholars Program
WHAT IS THE SUMMER SCHOLARS PROGRAM?
The Summer Scholars Program is a non-credit course that will give you a solid foundation in sustainability and the science behind environmental issues while you:
- study with top professors and leaders in the field of environmental sciences
- participate in a fully supervised program of classes, field trips, and recreational activities
- experience campus life at one of the world's leading universities
- explore Kelowna and meet students from around the world
KEY DATES
May 1, 2013: online application closes
July 14 – 27, 2013: Summer Scholars Program underway
ARE MY STUDENTS ELIGIBLE?
Students are eligible for the program if they are between 16 and 18 years of age and entering one of their final two years of recognized high-school study. The program requires that students are fully capable of undertaking academic instruction in English and are in good academic standing (unofficial transcript required).
Students are admitted to the Summer Scholars Program on a rolling basis, and with a limited number of spaces available to Canadian students, it is a good idea to apply early. To learn more, and to apply online, students can visit the Summer Scholars Program website.
