Engineers Save the World – we would like to invite you and your students to come and find out how.
Did you know engineers do more than build bridges and design fast cars. Engineers help prevent disease, reduce poverty and create solutions to protect people and our planet.
We know that you play an important role and can be influential in helping students explore their interests and passions and choose the careers they will eventually pursue. Engineering is an in-demand and rewarding option; in almost any industry you can imagine, engineers are involved. Many engineers also use their degree to become lawyers, doctors, CEOs and entrepreneurs.
Please invite your students to join our UBC Engineering Open House so they don’t miss out on these opportunities to explore the exciting options available to them:
1. 9am to 3pm on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the UBC’s Vancouver Campus
Meet UBC Engineering students, esteemed faculty and knowledgeable advisors
Explore all 12 programs available and tour our labs
Explore career options in our Co-Op program and with career advisors
Ask academic advisors your admission and application questions
See cool demonstrations and informative presentations
2. Westcoast Women in Engineering, Science & Technology Luncheon for Grade 10-12 female science and math students – at the Open House.
This invitation to your Grade 10-12 female students is an opportunity to talk to and hear presentations by women who are currently studying engineering or young alumnae who are working in the industry. We would like to provide an open forum to enable discussions with and questions to other female students/engineers who were facing a similar decision more recently, and why they chose their path.
We look forward to seeing your students, and you, at our Engineering Open House.
