Basic Qualifications
Education:
Applicants must be students who are returning to High School or a Post Secondary Institution in the fall.
Languages:
Excellence in English (verbal and written communication)
PC Aptitude:
Computer experience and comfortable working with Microsoft Word and  Excel.


Position Description
This position will provide general administrative support to the Black Tie team.  

Tasks include:
·       Answering telephones.
·       Filing, faxing and photocopying.
·       Responding to enquiries via email or telephone.
·       Preparing documents.
·       Maintaining office supplies.
·       Ensuring cleanliness of office and meeting room.
·       Assisting with various projects as required.

Summer Job Opportunity: Housekeeping/Serving/Yard Attendant


WHERE? Alpenrose Bed and Breakfast 

WAGE?  $10.50 - $11.00 per hour


JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an energetic, engaging person to work with us on a summer contract over which 30 hours a week will be guaranteed for 8 weeks. The shift is early morning till early afternoon at our busy bed and breakfast.
You must be under 25, have been a full time University, college or secondary student last semester and be returning to school full time in September 2013  . A second language is always a benefit; emphasis on French or German. Food Safe Certification must be completed prior to start date. Also required is a good knowledge of the area and attractions, or the “Best of Revelstoke” course certificate.

The successful nonsmoking applicant will exude a positive attitude and have an excellent attention to detail.  You must be a morning person, comfortable meeting and greeting guests, setting, serving and clearing tables.  You must be prepared to arrive on time, and have the stamina to work steady and quickly the entire shift.
Full chamber duties including changing beds, laundry, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming and washing floors and windows plus similar tasks are all job requirements.   As well, some outdoor work such as hanging clothes or taking clothes in from the line, raking, and mowing, weeding, watering plants may be required.

WHAT IS THE SUMMER SCHOLARS PROGRAM?


The Summer Scholars Program is a non-credit course that will give you a solid foundation in sustainability and the science behind environmental issues while you:

ARE MY STUDENTS ELIGIBLE?


Students are eligible for the program if they are between 16 and 18 years of age and entering one of their final two years of recognized high-school study. The program requires that students are fully capable of undertaking academic instruction in English and are in good academic standing (unofficial transcript required).

Students are admitted to the Summer Scholars Program on a rolling basis, and with a limited number of spaces available to Canadian students, it is a good idea to apply early. To learn more, and to apply online, students can visit the Summer Scholars Program website.
