GASP: Glacier Adventure Stewardship Program

Spend an amazing FREE weekend in Glacier National Park!
September 14-16, 2012
It's FREE - You just have to give back to your community in return.
Application forms available at the office - Due June 1st

20 lucky grade 10 & 11 students will take part in an amazing weekend of adventure as part of GASP.  This experience will include an overnight trip at the Alpine Club of Canada's Wheeler Hut in Rogers Pass in Glacier National Park where participants will develop their leadership and teamwork skills through mountain travel, photography, music and hiking experiences.  Contact Alice Weber if you have any questions alice.weber@pc.gc.ca or 250-837-7500

Awakening Directions: Youth Adventure Based Learning Program

Awakening Directions is a three-day adventure based learning program for youth ages 15-18.  The program occurs at the Bobbie Burns backcountry lodge south of Golden from September 7-10, 2012. The program is primarily funded by generous guest of CMH - Arthur Tauck and Frank Gould.  10 youth will be selected based on the application forms.  These are available in the Counselling Centre and are due June 10th.

The local Rotary club will sponsor a student in Grade 10,11 or 12 who is interested in Tourism to go to Kelowna for a week of "Adventure in Tourism" March 11-16.  See Mrs Wallach for details.
